At Care UK, we launched a brand-new nationwide initiative to help combat loneliness in the community this festive season.
The Care to Share initiative is designed to support older people throughout the Christmas period and beyond, after studies have shown almost 1.5 million older people feel lonelier at Christmas than any other time of year*.
At Care UK, all our homes are designed to naturally form close-knit communities with plenty of communal lounges and shared spaces to encourage conversation. We were delighted to give others a chance to experience the safe and sociable environments within our homes as we opened the doors at over 100 care homes across the UK and invite our older neighbours to join residents for a merry good time.
Inspired by the fond festive memories residents share, from Christmas carol concerts to family board game tournaments, team members across the country organised a fantastic line up of events.
Take a look at how our homes have been taking part in Care to Share.
