The Role

Leading the team in the smooth running of the kitchen operation
Develop nutritious and diet sensitive meals for residents and their requirements
Menu design and planning
Managing stock control and adhering to food cost guidelines
Ensure compliance with both Food Safety and Health and Safety in the kitchen
Training, supervising, and developing a team to help them make the most of their potential

We have our own Catering Academy to provide excellent training and induction programs for all new Catering Staff and we will give you all that’s needed to have a successful career as a Chef with us. A closely-knit team of managers, carers, nurses and support colleagues – and each of us is dedicated to your loved one’s care, health and wellbeing.

I started working for Care UK in 2013 and I left after seven years progressing from working as a nurse to a Deputy Manager. I returned in April 2021 as the Home Manager.

Prior to joining Care UK I worked as a nurse and I also served in the Army for 19 years where I first completed my training.

To do well as a Home Manager you need to be caring, understanding, approachable, a good listener, organiser, and communicator.

My favourite part of my job is talking to the residents and seeing them smile and being content in the home and seeing that my staff are happy in their working day.

My biggest career highlight to date has been passing my conversion course to qualify as a Registered General Nurse.

Outside of work, I enjoy watching football and I support Tottenham for my sins. I also enjoy socialising with friends and family at the pub or in a restaurant and travelling abroad.
