Essex care home hosts Winter Wonderland

 

Residents and families at a care home in Essex were treated to a day of festive cheer at the home's inaugural Winter Wonderland event. 

Care UK’s Colne View care home, on Dame Mary Walk in Halstead, was transformed with festive lights and winter-themed decorations, setting the stage for a memorable celebration. 

The home was suitably decorated for the festivities, with life-sized inflatable snow globes, which attendees could enter, and even a Santa’s Grotto for younger visitors. 

Residents and guests enjoyed a variety of activities, including carols sung by Halstead Dementia Friendly Choir, who were also joined by Santa. 

Everyone’s favourite festive refreshments were also on offer, including [homemade sausage rolls, mince pies, roasted chestnuts, mulled wine and hot chocolate with marshmallows for the children]. 

Janet Brady, age 71, is a resident at Colne View, and had the following to say about the home’s Christmas celebrations: “The decorations were excellent! We all had such a good time. I particularly enjoyed the singing.” 

Monica Boldeata, Home Manager at Colne View, said: “It’s been a joy to see so many smiling faces at our Winter Wonderland event. This has been a fantastic opportunity for residents, their families and the community to come together and celebrate the festive season. 

“The Colne View team have worked hard to create this event and it’s been wonderful to see the impact it’s had. Seeing families share such special moments with their loved ones is always a highlight, and this event has really helped create lasting memories that everyone will cherish.”
